WaterLovers Diani is a quaint beach resort on the tropical shores of the Indian Ocean. A mere 35 km from Mombasa, it is located in Diani Beach, on Kenya’s South Coast, which is known for its white sands and turquoise warm waters – a perfect setting for a holiday in paradise by the ocean.
The hotel accommodates eight very spacious suites, a self-contained villa, a swimming pool, a restaurant, a beach bar, a shop with artcraft from Africa a reception, a beach house with a kite center. Each suite is outfitted with a private ocean view veranda. The centrepiece of our beach is the turtle-shaped infinity pool. At our restaurant we are happy to serve our guests a bespoke cuisine combining Mediterranean recipes with local ingredients, while they can enjoy the quiet surf of the Indian Ocean just a shell throw away.

WaterLovers Diani has eight spacious rooms, each furnished with a private ocean view veranda. Our waterfront restaurant offers an exotic cuisine blending Mediterranean recipes with local ingredients. Relax in our turtle-shaped infinity pool while enjoying a clear view of the ocean. An additional deluxe ocean view villa can accommodate as many as eight people. It is equipped with a fully furnished kitchen and comes with a private chef, if requested.

WaterLovers is located on Diani Beach, about 35 km south of Moi International Airport Mombasa.
Diani’s long white sandy beach stretches along a breathtakingly beautiful stretch of 25 kilometres that are framed by crystal waters and coconut palm groves. The coral reef is home to sea turtles, dolphins, and numerous tropical fish.
The beach is bordered by lush green rainforest full of colourful birds and the rare breed of Colobus, an almost extinct black and white monkey, unique to this area of East Africa. The sprawling dimensions of the Shimba Hills natural reserve, a sanctuary for elephants, buffalos, antelopes and other wildlife, is located a little further inland and just a short drive from Diani.
All eight WaterLovers suites are equipped with private veranda, air condition, fan, mosquito nets, security box, complementary cellphone with local line to use during your stay, complimentary wi-fi, I-Pod, I-Phone and Mp3 docking station, etc. Both double and triple rooms are available. Every suite has a spacious private veranda overlooking the ocean and the style of the interior design is a blend of Swahili culture and Mediterranean style. The Arab word “Swahili” means “of the shore” and is the traditional language of East Africa. But Swahili is more than a language. It is also the true culture of Africa’s Indian Ocean coastline, a trader’s culture that blends cultural elements of Africa and Arabia with the East and the West – the result is a truly breathtaking cultural fusion, which can be felt in every nook and cranny of WaterLovers’ interior design.
You can choose the Bed & Breakfast option and enjoy the freedom of deciding whether you wish to have your lunch or dinner at our Tides restaurant on the sea day by day. Or if you already like our style, you can just go for the HB or FB option. For cocktails, fruit juices, aperitifs and good music, the perfect place to visit is our Ocean Spirit Beach Bar.
Waterlovers Diani can be your base for numerous recreational and sports activities like kite surfing, windsurfing, diving, snorkelling by the coral reef, big game fishing, tennis or big game safaris. You can play golf at the 18-hole Leisure Lodge Golf Course just down the road or take an excursion to the nearby Kisite Marine National Park noted for its stunning and intact coral gardens with more than 250 species of marine life.
We can also arrange a selection of massage therapies and skin and body care treatments or yoga lessons.
For those who wish to get a taste of Africa while enjoying the privacy and comfort of a home, or for those travelling with family or friends and looking for a little extra privacy, we also offer you the possibility to rent our private villa, which comes with a fully equipped kitchen.
The villa offers two spacious double bedrooms on the ground floor, both equipped with air conditioning, fan and their own private bathrooms. Also the villa features mosquito nets, security box, complementary local SIM card, complimentary wi-fi, I-Pod, I-Phone and Mp3 docking station, etc. On the upper floor gallery, you will find another two king size beds and a third bathroom complete with shower. All beds have mosquito nets and the interior design was inspired by the wonders of the natural elements surrounding the villa combined with European comfort.
There is a cosy and wonderfully comfy dining area with sofas and pillows and a beautifully carved, wooden dining table with enough room for everyone, inviting you to spend relaxing moments of the day.
The stairs leading to the gallery are made of driftwood and local precious woods; the floor of the upper level is made out of African cedar planks. Swahili-style carved beds complete the interior design that was inspired by the spectacular atmosphere only Africa can exude.
The open kitchen is equipped with everything your heart might desire, from fridge to freezer, to a gas oven, from a large counter for enjoying aperitifs to a storage room for keeping your food.
Housekeeping is included in the rent. For the meals you can choose to enjoy the fully equipped kitchen overlooking the Ocean, or to join us in our beach restaurant. Towels and bed sheets are included, a laundry service can also be provided at request.
There is a shopping centre on the other side of the beach road with a large supermarket, bars, ice cafés, restaurants, a pharmacy, a bank and various kinds of other facilities .
Bookable from the beginning of September and available from January the 15th we offer a new extra luxury accommodation inside our resort, which is a 370 sqmts Penthouse with a stunning view straight on the Ocean. The house is situated right at the beach front, on top of our Tides Restaurant, and it’s fully equipped with all luxury comfort and media, perfect for your most exclusive clientele .
This new 4 bedroom super-suite is developed into two floors and features all possible optionals from private Gym to flat screen television and Ipads and ipod stations. At the first floor, there is the living area with TV and sofas, and two bedrooms with their 2 bathrooms, plus a nice veranda equipped with outdoor sofas, a nice gas barbeque, and an amazing view on the beach (litterally on the water).
On the 2nd floor there is a beautiful wooden deck open-space again with an amazing view and with a king size bed plus a private Gym. Also at the same top floor there is another bedroom room. The two sleeping areas on the 2nd floor are sharing one bathroom .
All the rooms except the big open space at the top floor are fitted with AC and all beds are provided with mosquito nets and ceiling fans. The entire house enjoys a 360 degrees view all over the beach, the pool and the lush garden in the back.
WaterLovers Diani cuisine is a combination of a Mediterranean culinary experience and the precious ingredients the Equatorial African Coast has to offer. Our restaurant, Tides, has an exquisitely charming atmosphere as it is set by the pool overlooking the ocean; the restaurant structure is reminiscent of Greek architecture: spacious whitewashed arcades with wooden ceiling beams made of African cedar and a long, beautifully hand-crafted sofa that is invitingly decorated with fluffy pillows.
At Tides, we are extremely prudent to use only fresh and prime quality ingredients. As each and everything is homemade by our chefs, we are able to guarantee both quality and freshness: fresh pasta, warm bread and mouth-watering cakes and desserts.
Roasted pumpkin ravioli in crab and fish ragout, crab fagottini with avocado and lime sauce, passion fruit mousse with white chocolate flakes and mint leaves are only some of our recipes that will charm your taste buds into asking for seconds. Our work ethic translates into the personalised service we are proud to offer, which leads to the unique and detailed presentation of our dishes.
The menu changes every day, with choices of fish and meat. Additionally, we would be happy to arrange personalised menus for vegetarians or guests with special diets if you so request.

During your stay at WaterLovers Diani, you can play golf at the Leisure Lodge Golf Club, a 18-hole course, just 5 minutes down the road (Golfing in Kenya). The golf course is home to the Diani Beach Masters and is viewed as one of the most exciting in East Africa.
The 72 par, 6084 square metres Leisure Lodge Golf course stretches among palms, cashew nut trees and casuarinas (typical local trees), has a big central lake and is home to a luscious tropical fauna.
From WaterLovers, one of the fishermens traditional wooden boats can take you to the coral reef in 10 minutes where you can go snorkelling and explore the wonderful tropical seabeds. At WL beach house you can get snorkelling equipment and a 2-seat kayak without additional costs.
For those who want to start diving or already have a diving licence, the reef is extremely rich and offers different kinds of dive spots. Among the most common species are the colourful reef fish, the beautiful sea turtles and the giant whale sharks, which come to the reef between November and March. We can assist you in finding the most professional dive operators.
For those of you who are keen lovers of big game fishing, the Indian Ocean is rich with Blue Marlins, Sail Fish, and Tunas and we would be more than happy to organise an unforgettable fishing trip; in particular we recommend you Get Hooked, a professional operator of good standing.
