Distance from Moi International Airport, Mombasa: 50km (Approx 1-2hrs with Ferry Crossing)
Distance from Mombasa town: 45km (Approx 1hr) Distance from Likoni Ferry: 40km (Approx 45mins)
Distance from Ukunda Airstrip: 7km (Approx 15mins). Almanara recommends you fly into this airport if possible.
For the active guest seeking excursions and something more active, Kite Surfing, Windsurfing, Snorkelling and Scuba Diving are a selection of the activities available. If a middle ground is more your thing you can hang up your wet-suit and let Almanara arrange a tranquil day out of whale shark and dolphin spotting or sand island trips for your enjoyment. Almanara’s Private Garden Villas are perfectly suited for families and couples alike. Local artwork and bespoke furniture blend all the modern amenities with traditional African decor. Fully air-conditioned throughout, each villa has 3 en-suite double bedrooms plus a downstairs cloakroom. The open-plan dining and living area provides the option to relax & dine in the cool indoors of your villa, and opens onto a spacious covered veranda. The central swimming pool is accompanied by our sunken pool bar which serves cocktails and refreshments throughout the day.
Casa Bella, which is comprised of 3 Ocean View Rooms and 2 Ocean View Suites, offers guests the chance to enjoy breathtaking views and luxury service in a small boutique hotel setting. Decorated throughout with Italian Marble & Mosaic, the generous open plan layout provides ample for our guests to relax. The dramatic entrance hall opens onto a spacious veranda which overlooks the swimming pool and ocean below. All of our suites and rooms are en-suite and fully air-conditioned.
When it comes to dining on Diani Beach, you are spoilt for choice. A top class selection of fresh seafood is available daily at Almanara. You may choose to dine either in your villa or perhaps at Sails, our beach front bar and restaurant where you can enjoy an aperitif and some fine dining whilst looking out to the Indian Ocean.
Should you choose to dine outside of your villa for lunch or dinner, we can offer international cuisine on site at “Sails” our beach front bar and restaurant. Live bands and entertainment can be organised upon request, while music and a relaxed atmosphere is provided every evening.
Allow your personal Chef and Butler to spoil you each day with a huge selection of dishes. Lobster for lunch and Dorado for dinner? The choice truly is yours. Enjoy each meal from your spacious verandah, dining room, or even your private rooftop terrace. If you spot an interesting place you might rather eat, simply ask the staff.
Jump aboard the Wasi Wasi Wenu, Almanara’s own Ngalawa, and sail out to the coral reefs of the Indian Ocean. Relax at low tide on the private sand islands, or perhaps throw on a mask and some fins, and head into the water to explore the life beneath.

On site, we have the KiLeo Water Sports centre which offers courses in Kitesurfing and Windsurfing, along with equipment rental. We can also organise Scuba Diving and Deep Sea Fishing trips for those seeking a little adventure.
In association with the Leisure Lodge Golf Club a round can be organised on the 18 hole Par 72 Championship course. Tennis can also be organised on their two floodlit clay courts. Leisure Lodge Golf Club is located 5 minutes from the resort.
A range of other activities including Scuba Diving (PADI & SSI), day trips to Wasini Island for some dolphin and whale shark spotting along with Deep Sea Fishing trips, are also available. Organised trips to the nearby Shimba Hills National Reserve waterfalls and scenic walks are also on offer.
A variety of Safaris can be organised for you during your stay at Almanara. You can visit one of our preferred camps in the famous Maasai Mara to witness the great Wildebeest Migration, a true spectacle of a lifetime. (Requires a flight and overnight stay). Alternatively you can take a day trip to the Shimba Hills or Tsavo National park. Safari trips can be organised at anytime throughout your stay.
If you’re looking for wildlife, then look no further than the Colobus Trust. This charity run organisation helps protect the endangered Angolan Colobus, and help rehabilitate the remainder of our Monkey species – which include Baboons, Sykes and Vervets. Remaining on the topic of trees, a visit to the local “Kaya” forest is a must. You will be met by the local patrons of the Kaya, who will take you on a tour of the forest and explain the history of the Digo (coastal) people and their connections with nature.
